In the 5th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenn Skou to maneuver through the defense. Claude Helssen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. In the 13th minute Bertram Svenningsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolf Zuidema kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Finidi George got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Nygaard to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Finidi George came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 60th minute of the game was made by Freek Wolf with Rudi de Zwart as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Finidi George hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Denmark's Olav Graversen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Freek Wolf, made in the 69th minute of the game. Cláudio Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 70th minute of the match. When Denmark's Chris Nygaard in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caseys Dreamteam 2's goalie prevented a goal. 78 minutes into the game, Freek Wolf threw the ball into play from the sideline. Denmark's Theis Winther quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Caseys Dreamteam 2's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Chris Nygaard scored to the left of an out of position Cláudio Linhares, making the score, 1-2. When Mikkel Wulff fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Mikkel Wulff a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Mikkel Wulff. With a little luck, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Cláudio Linhares got control of the ball when Chris Nygaard tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Denmark players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
