Ferdinando Capuozzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 33 minutes, Lars Meesters managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Meesters was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Egbert Nijveldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. 52 minutes into the match, FC Remug Red Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Ferdinando Capuozzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Orlandi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 59th minute of play forced FC Remug Red Devils's goalkeeper Ferdinando Capuozzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinando Capuozzi made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Ferdinando Capuozzi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Ferdinando Capuozzi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
