Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Galle, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute Andrei Brănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrei Brănescu in the 9th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stor Norling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stor Norling, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stor Norling. Atletico Sweds's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrei Brănescu in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 40th minute of play forced Atletico Sweds's goalkeeper Stor Norling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Atletico Sweds getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Aleksander Naredi hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 45th minute of play forced Atletico Sweds's goalkeeper Stor Norling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Galle in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stor Norling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Håkan Galle was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Sweds's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stor Norling came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kees Mooiweer made in the 62nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lars Meesters. Stor Norling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Håkan Galle came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stor Norling saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 72 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stor Norling was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atletico Sweds made a substitution. Wilhelm Sahlberg replaced Aleksander Naredi. David Eikelkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Stor Norling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Atletico Sweds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nojus Barasa to maneuver through the defense. After 94 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Lars Meesters. Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
