Fabrice Lepetit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Rusil in the 10th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Erik Jilek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrice Lepetit was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Denis Dostal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrice Lepetit having to interfere. Fabrice Lepetit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Rezek in the 38th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Alan Rezek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Czech Republic's supporters rose to their feet, but Alan Rezek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabrice Lepetit breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Erik Jilek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clovis Lenoble, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Vavrinec Holub was a little too slow when Pierre-Loup Grandgirard got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Czech Republic's zone, Clovis Lenoble stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vavrinec Holub came out of the goal and Clovis Lenoble tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After having played for 52 minutes, Erik Jilek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Czech Republic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Jilek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrea Bocelli took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vavrinec Holub. Vavrinec Holub dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Pierre-Loup Grandgirard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the game, Bohumir Kohout was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Czech Republic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fierce the free kick. The supporters of Fierce booed when Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bohumir Kohout didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clovis Lenoble blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vavrinec Holub having to make a save. Pierre-Loup Grandgirard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vavrinec Holub read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. When Fierce's Clovis Lenoble in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. In the 66th minute Pierre-Loup Grandgirard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavrinec Holub saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alan Rezek came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Czech Republic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Rezek couldn't finish the play. Vavrinec Holub stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clovis Lenoble's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Clovis Lenoble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 83 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Turecek. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Valdemar Turecek hit a great ball. Fierce made a substitution. Alvaro De Pedro replaced Alexandre Bertholet. Vavrinec Holub took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clovis Lenoble, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
