Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Le Saux, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Erik Puja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes suffered a sore thigh after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Lennie Sutherland fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gloucester City AFC's protests and gave Lennie Sutherland a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Gloucester City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Sutherland. After 47 played minutes Gloucester City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Åke Petersson. Danny Jumel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sijmen Clous, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kristopher Le Saux went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Jarred Castaneda hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Erik Puja kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Gijsbert ter Kruimer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gijsbert ter Kruimer to maneuver through the defense. Lennie Sutherland hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danny Jumel. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danny Jumel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Le Saux in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gloucester City AFC's Danny Jumel did a great save. Sijmen Clous could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Danny Jumel made a huge save. Danny Jumel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sijmen Clous in the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Netherlands were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
