In the 34th minute, Benedicto Naelio made a precise shot to the right of Gregorio Acevedo. San Lorenzo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Bernie Strauss made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Argentina's Alfonso Guifre. If Benedicto Naelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benedicto Naelio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Gregorio Acevedo 44 minutes into the match. The supporters of Argentina booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernie Strauss didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, San Lorenzo's Gregorio Acevedo got control of the ball when Benedicto Naelio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benedicto Naelio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Benedicto Naelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gregorio Acevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentina. Argentina made a substitution.
