Tommy Kahn was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Nunez Hernando capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nunez Hernando really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ivan Vlaykovski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Emilio Giancola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacciola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 48th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willy Stieler to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off.
