Maximino Ruy started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Denis Pumnu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Václav Filipi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Pumnu in the 18th minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Václav Filipi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Jose Chale notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Bogdan Ignătoiu. Bogdan Ignătoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute, Maximino Ruy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Valer Andriescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Václav Filipi to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Valer Andriescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Václav Filipi. That made the score 2-1 after 32 minutes of play. The supporters of -BZF- Barca de Buzau booed when ATLETICO MENDOZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Muno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustafa Abdul during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mustafa Abdul hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vlad Agusoaei got free with Václav Filipi in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vlad Agusoaei ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Vlad Agusoaei got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Václav Filipi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Drăgănoiu to make the kick off. Ladislao Cresitobalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Bogdan Ignătoiu made a huge save. The supporters of -BZF- Barca de Buzau booed when ATLETICO MENDOZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Abdul didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute of the match, Maximino Ruy tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bogdan Ignătoiu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 60 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Drăgănoiu came free, but Václav Filipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Pumnu came free, but Václav Filipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Bogdan Ignătoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save -BZF- Barca de Buzau from getting a goal against them. Manuel Drăgănoiu hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Manuel Drăgănoiu's late challenge caught a ATLETICO MENDOZA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Drăgănoiu helped the player get up and apologised. Ladislao Cresitobalo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ladislao Cresitobalo in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bogdan Ignătoiu saved -BZF- Barca de Buzau from getting behind. After some careless play in the -BZF- Barca de Buzau defense, Maximino Ruy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bogdan Ignătoiu. The -BZF- Barca de Buzau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bogdan Ignătoiu should have stopped the shot. A collision led to -BZF- Barca de Buzau getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Sandu Cojocaru hit a great ball. ATLETICO MENDOZA's Václav Filipi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Andriescu in the 95th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. -BZF- Barca de Buzau were victorious despite being under pressure from ATLETICO MENDOZA for much of the match.
