The audience thought a goal was coming when Vinicio Carballeira got free with Casper Claes in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 23 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Vinicio Carballeira came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Carballeira in the 25th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Memphis Grizzlies's Stuart Banks was substituted for Vinicio Carballeira. Felix Mudarra's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 85 minutes of play, Belgium's Lenny Clocheret made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donald Fenwick was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donald Fenwick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Memphis Grizzlies were victorious despite being under pressure from Belgium for much of the match.
