The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 34th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Castro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Christian Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Christian Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lars Meesters went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. After 42 played minutes FC Barrera 2.0 got a freekick which was hit by Alex Lara. After 47 played minutes Boško Balaban rounded Netherlands's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, FC Barrera 2.0's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Christian Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Barrera 2.0's goalkeeper Christian Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th match minute, FC Barrera 2.0 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton Furtado to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Barrera 2.0 getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Alex Lara hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Christian Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 73rd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Christian Castro threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
