With a little luck, Capo de Provincia's Omar Zamora got control of the ball when Jack Saunders tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC Lugano's Godo Gøl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Casos in the 5th minute of play. In the 12thth minute of the game Aldo Casos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Lugano's Godo Gøl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute, Jack Saunders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benoit Ritieni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Zamora having to interfere. Omar Zamora was a little too slow when Benoit Ritieni got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 3-0. The throw-in from Yusuf Ziya Cerit in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Capo de Provincia's Alexis Byers. When Aldo Casos, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 34 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Godo Gøl was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Aldo Casos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Godo Gøl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Capo de Provincia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Pedro Hernández hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aldo Casos to strike the kick off in the second half. Aldo Casos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godo Gøl having to interfere. After 54 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Polo Maldini. Fred Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute Fred Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Zamora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Lugano made a substitution. Igor Linares replaced Zhao Le Sen. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Yusuf Ziya Cerit hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Aldo Casos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capo de Provincia's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldo Casos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godo Gøl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldo Casos got free with Godo Gøl in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute, Fred Lara made a precise shot to the right of Omar Zamora. Capo de Provincia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. A collision led to Capo de Provincia getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Próspero Imaz hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Edmondo Gulli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Omar Zamora. Capo de Provincia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmondo Gulli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After having played for 78 minutes, Aldo Casos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capo de Provincia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Casos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aldo Casos might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godo Gøl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aldo Casos ran back to his position shaking his head. 83 minutes into the match, Capo de Provincia's Aldo Casos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godo Gøl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Igor Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Igor Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Igor Linares hit a great ball. Godo Gøl acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Próspero Imaz. In the 87th minute, Fred Lara made a precise shot to the right of Omar Zamora. Capo de Provincia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Fred Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Omar Zamora having to make a save. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Fred Lara sped through Capo de Provincia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Omar Zamora. The FC Lugano players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
