Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Albert Vaştag hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 8th minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Gelu Bornescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a precise shot to the right of Gelu Bornescu. Ninjas in Pyjamas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Gelu Bornescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ninjas in Pyjamas defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gelu Bornescu. The Ninjas in Pyjamas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gelu Bornescu should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ninjas in Pyjamas's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Bornescu came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Onofrei in the 32nd minute of play. In the 39th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Iosif Mihele tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gelu Bornescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. The Ninjas in Pyjamas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iosif Mihele made a kick off. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Bornescu having to interfere. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Onofrei in the 59th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Gelu Bornescu made a huge save. Gelu Bornescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 76 minutes Ninjas in Pyjamas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Egbert Nijveldt was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Gelu Bornescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Gelu Bornescu however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 82nd minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Gelu Bornescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gelu Bornescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Gelu Bornescu in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Ninjas in Pyjamas's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gelu Bornescu. That made the score 0-4 in the 94 minute of play.
