Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nedim Emekli in the 3rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Bruno Bastos got a free kick in the 9th minute. Daniel Pimentel kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Miltos Makris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Portugal's Fabricio Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefanos Salepis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 33rd minute of play forced Mean Machine's goalkeeper Stefanos Salepis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jared Blum was slow to take the kick. During this time Mean Machine's players had a chance to rest. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carles Pujol in the 39th minute of the match. Stefanos Salepis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 41st minute of play. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stefanos Salepis came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Stefanos Salepis made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Stefanos Salepis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mean Machine's goalkeeper Stefanos Salepis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefanos Salepis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mean Machine's goalkeeper Stefanos Salepis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Nedim Emekli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nedim Emekli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nikos Stasinos during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Mean Machine was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikos Stasinos to maneuver through the defense. Stefanos Salepis acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 81st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Pimentel. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mean Machine had won after a very even match.
