If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivan Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 41st minute of play. After 62 minutes, Fathoni Andrich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Zorro and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. FC Zorro's Ivan Sjögren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save FC Zorro from getting a goal against them. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
