The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 12th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Nygaard to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Vandalino's Attilio Sanna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Fulvio Gargano made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Denmark's Olav Graversen. Vandalino's Octav Alexa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 21st minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Attilio Sanna got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attilio Sanna in the 24th minute of the match. Octav Alexa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Nygaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that Attilio Sanna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 36th minute, Mathias Ludvigsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Mikkel Wulff hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Octav Alexa saved Vandalino from getting behind. Ferruccio Terrasi hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Nygaard to make the kick off. The supporters of Vandalino booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikkel Wulff didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes, Attilio Sanna made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Denmark's Keld Paulsen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
