Celso Fix who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Tommy Kahn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Celso Fix sped through Germany's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. In the 45th match minute, Cura del Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Groll to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Mergenthaler didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
