The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to C.A. Peñarol getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Silviano Verdejo hit a great ball. Vincente Felice struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Enzo Baracaldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Snorlax FC. The audience was convinced that Geofredo Laferte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elizalde Aguayo was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 1-0 became the score in the 13th minute when Sebastian Piñera elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Snorlax FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marciano Füller hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Neira in the 22nd minute of play forced Snorlax FC's goalkeeper Elizalde Aguayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Sebastian Piñera reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Enzo Baracaldo. The goal made the score 2-0. After 28 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Víctor Javier Fritz. Sebastian Piñera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Enzo Baracaldo made a huge save. C.A. Peñarol's Geofredo Laferte got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Snorlax FC's Jonathan Schlegel got a free kick in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Geofredo Laferte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A. Peñarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Snorlax FC the free kick. Geofredo Laferte hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerard Aris was the one to do the kick off. Enzo Baracaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Piñera in the 56th minute of play. Demetrio Aicardi struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. But to his dismay, Sebastian Piñera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 66th match minute, C.A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Neira to maneuver through the defense. Isidro Fariña hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. C.A. Peñarol's Enzo Baracaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marciano Füller in the 69th minute of play. Enzo Baracaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard Aris in the 72nd minute of the match. Luis Neira's late challenge caught a Snorlax FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Neira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Luis Neira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Juan Carlos Irigoyen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enzo Baracaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marciano Füller in the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute Demetrio Aicardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elizalde Aguayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nereo Ibarguen charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nereo Ibarguen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elizalde Aguayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Neira in the 94th minute of play. Samuel Benavente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elizalde Aguayo having to interfere. C.A. Peñarol's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
