Gerónimo Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Cross having to make a save. 13 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Perl came free, but Jacinto Cross reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Magallanes booed when Talcampeón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Fevre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brian Izaga kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Sandro Asenjo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talcampeón FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandro Asenjo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Val Mac Millan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfonso Lastra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Val Mac Millan made a huge save. In the 33rd minute, Elias Longa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goalkeeper Val Mac Millan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Lastra. Tanausu Montoya's late challenge caught a Talcampeón FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tanausu Montoya helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Magallanes:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Talcampeón FC:s goal. Jacinto Cross showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerónimo Brito in the 42nd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Asenjo was the one to do the kick off. Val Mac Millan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Asenjo in the 51st minute of play. Val Mac Millan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Asenjo, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When the match was over Magallanes could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Talcampeón FC throughout the match.
