Talcampeón FC's Jacinto Cross proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Talcampeón FC from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrés Villaseñor helped the player get up and apologised. Andrés Villaseñor hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Jacinto Cross made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Villalón in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naelio Marx to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Barria made a kick off. Jacinto Cross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martino Goyenechea in the 53rd minute of play. Cosme Zurita kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Severino Taylor was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Nestor Barria capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nestor Barria really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Talcampeón FC's Jacinto Cross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Villalón in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Fernán Parga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurino Verschueren hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The Talcampeón FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Talcampeón FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
