Samuel Benavente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sherlock Holmes in the 4th minute of play. After 5 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Viviano Amenábar. After a rather tough play, Snorlax FC's Vincente Felice got a free kick in the 6th minute. Timeteo Amthauer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hermelando Irizar came out and tried to block the shot, but Timeteo Amthauer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Sherlock Holmes notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of C.A. Peñarol's Samuel Benavente. Samuel Benavente was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samuel Benavente came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Snorlax FC's César Balladares. But to his dismay, César Balladares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The supporters of C.A. Peñarol booed when Snorlax FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conan Blasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Ramon María Cortés from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Hermelando Irizar's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 23rd minute Sherlock Holmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Benavente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maxi López charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maxi López the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Maxi López. Sherlock Holmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of C.A. Peñarol booed when Snorlax FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conan Blasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Nicoletti in the 35th minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Samuel Benavente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Benavente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elberg Gažo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd match minute, C.A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abner Iturribalzaga to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Maxi López made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Sherlock Holmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Benavente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Gustavo Pinuer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Samuel Benavente made a huge save. After a rather tough play, C.A. Peñarol's Abner Iturribalzaga got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Snorlax FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Carlos Gustavo Pinuer hit a great ball. Ramon María Cortés took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hermelando Irizar. Snorlax FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Samuel Benavente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tor Viveros in the 63rd minute. Sherlock Holmes had several of the C.A. Peñarol's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Samuel Benavente as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some careless play in the C.A. Peñarol defense, Sherlock Holmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Benavente. The C.A. Peñarol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Benavente should have stopped the shot. Samuel Benavente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sherlock Holmes in the 74th minute of play. C.A. Peñarol's Samuel Benavente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincente Felice in the 82nd minute of play. Samuel Benavente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sherlock Holmes in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Sherlock Holmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Benavente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sherlock Holmes took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Benavente. Samuel Benavente dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sherlock Holmes in the 96th minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Samuel Benavente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
