Honorio Kowalesko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Barria struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Val Mac Millan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talcampeón FC. After 7 minutes, Filipo Paut mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magallanes and the Talcampeón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Magallanes fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Magallanes's Honorio Kowalesko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jacinto Cross didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Andrés Villaseñor hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorio Kowalesko in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto Cross saved Talcampeón FC from getting behind. A collision led to Talcampeón FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Fernán Parga hit a great ball. Jacinto Cross didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Magallanes's Victoriano Paillemil shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Magallanes's Victoriano Paillemil slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacinto Cross. That made the score 5-0 after 41 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victoriano Paillemil to make the kick off. Victoriano Paillemil's late challenge caught a Talcampeón FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victoriano Paillemil helped the player get up and apologised. Victoriano Paillemil hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Nestor Barria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Aníbal Aguacero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacinto Cross. Talcampeón FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Aguacero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Magallanes made a substitution. Oliverio Boonen replaced Filipo Paut. Jacinto Cross showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Paillemil in the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Gerónimo Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacinto Cross was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Victoriano Paillemil put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jacinto Cross. Victoriano Paillemil was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 82nd minute, Victoriano Paillemil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Magallanes booed when Talcampeón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naelio Marx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Cross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Manuel Losada, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Jacinto Cross didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerónimo Brito went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Aníbal Aguacero struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Jacinto Cross didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes. Pedro Manuel Losada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacinto Cross read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Magallanes players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
