Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Osvaldo Gorostiaga started the match with the kick off. The C.A. Peñarol fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when C.A. Peñarol's Maxi López looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Saint Sophia's Johnny Herrera got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maxi López received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Calvino Inostroza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrico Abeliuk charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrico Abeliuk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxi López in the 32nd minute of play forced Saint Sophia's goalkeeper Calvino Inostroza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Rondizzoni charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Rondizzoni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adelio Quezada kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Saint Sophia's goalkeeper Calvino Inostroza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maxi López. Saint Sophia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Maxi López 48 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maxi López to make the kick off. The supporters of Saint Sophia booed when C.A. Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viviano Amenábar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maxi López struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Calvino Inostroza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Peñarol. After 58 played minutes Saint Sophia got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Herrera. In the 59th match minute, Saint Sophia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Herrera to maneuver through the defense. Calvino Inostroza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxi López in the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maxi López in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calvino Inostroza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Calvino Inostroza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxi López, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxi López in the 76th minute of play. After some careless play in the Saint Sophia defense, Maxi López kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calvino Inostroza. The Saint Sophia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calvino Inostroza should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Cancino in the 83rd minute of play forced Saint Sophia's goalkeeper Calvino Inostroza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Saint Sophia's Osvaldo Gorostiaga got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85thth minute of the game Maxi López who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 87 minutes, Salvatore Wood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saint Sophia and the C.A. Peñarol players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Salvatore Wood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rainerio Amezquita hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, Ramon María Cortés sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza didn't even have to move. In the 96thth minute of the game Maxi López who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the C.A. Peñarol players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
