Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Barria in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Miren Wilshaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Sophia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talcampeón FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Saint Sophia's Miren Wilshaw got a free kick in the 26th minute. Osvaldo Gorostiaga hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Nestor Barria scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calvino Inostroza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Calvino Inostroza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Barria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th match minute, Saint Sophia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Orsterhont to maneuver through the defense. Calvino Inostroza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Barria, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The crowd rose to their feet as Talcampeón FC's Nestor Barria slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Calvino Inostroza. That made the score 1-3 after 67 minutes of play. Saint Sophia's Calvino Inostroza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severiano Hasche in the 72nd minute of play. Nestor Barria took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Calvino Inostroza. Calvino Inostroza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. With his leg Calvino Inostroza managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Talcampeón FC's Nestor Barria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Calvino Inostroza came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Talcampeón FC's José Francisco Maffey. But to his dismay, José Francisco Maffey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5.
