Xaiver Rosende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelino Fritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Talcampeón FC's Edgardo Rondanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Gong Ao Guang left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. Peñarol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yeray Necochea, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Edgardo Rondanelli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gong Ao Guang's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. After some careless play in the Talcampeón FC defense, Gong Ao Guang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgardo Rondanelli. The Talcampeón FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgardo Rondanelli should have stopped the shot. After 42 played minutes C.A. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gong Ao Guang in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgardo Rondanelli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute of the match C.A. Peñarol got a corner. Talcampeón FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jimeno Infante ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Fritz in the 64th minute of play. Gong Ao Guang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Rondanelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikel Señoret in the 71st minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Xaiver Rosende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lolo Acharan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's Gong Ao Guang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgardo Rondanelli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peñarol supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A. Peñarol would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
