After a rather tough play, VILLANUEVA FC's Xacobo Barroso got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 25th minute of the match, Lolo Acharan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nicodemo Recalde was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. VILLANUEVA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Blanco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Rondanelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lolo Acharan made a kick off.
