After a defensive mix-up in Colo-Colo's zone, Thalis Papazisis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eladio Escalona came out of the goal and Thalis Papazisis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute Danilo Zárate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Escalona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horacio Jesus Carvallo made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Honorio Droguett sent off a good shot on target. In the 13thth minute of the game Ni Zhen Feng who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colo-Colo's Eladio Escalona was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Colo-Colo's Eladio Escalona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Zárate in the 14th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubén Martínez in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horacio Jesus Carvallo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 17 minutes Baez FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Honorio Droguett who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ni Zhen Feng in the 18th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Eladio Escalona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eladio Escalona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ni Zhen Feng in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute Danilo Zárate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Escalona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubén Martínez got free with Horacio Jesus Carvallo in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Horacio Jesus Carvallo came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez. But to his dismay, Rubén Martínez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Eladio Escalona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ni Zhen Feng in the 30th minute of play. Horacio Jesus Carvallo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorio Droguett in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ni Zhen Feng in the 35th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Eladio Escalona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Avram Chițac fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colo-Colo's protests and gave Avram Chițac a yellow card for diving instead.

In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Baez FC's goalkeeper Horacio Jesus Carvallo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Baez FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Honorio Droguett was slow to take the kick. During this time Colo-Colo's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Honorio Droguett almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Baez FC's Horacio Jesus Carvallo did a great save. After some careless play in the Baez FC defense, Rubén Martínez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horacio Jesus Carvallo.
