The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xalvador Mac Kenney stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, VILLANUEVA FC's Marcel Blanco made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zhuo Xuan Yu was left in no man's land by his defense there! 60 minutes into the match, Grzegorz Bierfass notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde. Nicodemo Recalde was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 62 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Mercurio San Martín. VILLANUEVA FC's Reces Cabanillas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 64th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Zhuo Xuan Yu but with some difficulty. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xacobo Barroso got free with Zhuo Xuan Yu in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute of the match VILLANUEVA FC got a corner. Inter de Chillán's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Reces Cabanillas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Reces Cabanillas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Inter de Chillán's Zhuo Xuan Yu did a great save. Eladio Araujo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicodemo Recalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, VILLANUEVA FC's Gerardo Gazitúa got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Reces Cabanillas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tobías Izamit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Inter de Chillán's Eladio Araujo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicodemo Recalde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. When Inter de Chillán's Eladio Araujo in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VILLANUEVA FC's goalie prevented a goal. 95 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eladio Araujo came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
