Acácio Oliveira took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hias Nüssli. Hias Nüssli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Marcelo Evangelista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hias Nüssli having to make a save. Acácio Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. Acácio Oliveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hias Nüssli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Acácio Oliveira. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuele Kunz was the one to do the kick off. When Nigel Zammit came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the El Millo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nigel Zammit couldn't finish the play. The supporters of El Millo booed when Switzerland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Iseli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Thomi kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Aigisthos Farmakis charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aigisthos Farmakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hias Nüssli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio Oliveira in the 64th minute of the match.
