Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Iurie Bănățeanu started the match with the kick off. Leontin Titulescu charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leontin Titulescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Germany booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leontin Titulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Iurie Bănățeanu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Frank Sachs kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Codruț Macaneață scored 1-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 41st minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Holweck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frank Sachs in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valer Onișoru, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Leontin Titulescu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Leontin Titulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Albin Holweck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Germany's Frank Sachs ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valer Onișoru. Valer Onișoru yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valer Onișoru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Cristinel Uncheşelu hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Holweck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Onișoru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Germany's Malte Schiele got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Gigi Bobei took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tommy Kahn. Germany's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Bănățeanu in the 84th minute of play. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bănățeanu in the 85th minute of play. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Iurie Bănățeanu got a free kick in the 90th minute. Albin Holweck received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valer Onișoru came out and tried to block the shot, but Albin Holweck slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 96th minute. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Germany were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
