The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Soriano Espiñeira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lars Meesters showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 50 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Parra in the 54th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soriano Espiñeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Soriano Espiñeira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 70 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Netherlands's Wim Wilmes fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. A sloppy throw-in by Gust Ennemans in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Navalito's José Ignacio Portusagasti. Nazario Urtubia hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Navalito.
