In the 5th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Almeida to maneuver through the defense. If Jairo Deunoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jairo Deunoro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. Jairo Deunoro might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Deunoro ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Deunoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Jairo Deunoro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Angelo Urtsua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Angelo Urtsua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 18th minute of the match. Rodolfo Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodolfo Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute Luisito Gaizkine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Deunoro might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Deunoro ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jairo Deunoro got free with Wilson Amorim in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Bruno Bastos got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 36 minutes Caballeritos del Baile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 39th minute of play forced Caballeritos del Baile's goalkeeper Angelo Urtsua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39th play minutes Viriato Moura shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Angelo Urtsua and just under the crossbar into goal. Angelo Urtsua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho in the 42nd minute of play. Jairo Deunoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Deunoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute Graciano Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Urtsua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Portugal were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. Jairo Deunoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Raimundo Giraldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Raimundo Giraldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 0-2 became the score in the 56th minute when Viriato Moura elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jairo Deunoro scored 1-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caballeritos del Baile's Angelo Urtsua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Jairo Deunoro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jairo Deunoro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Bruno Bastos hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Angelo Urtsua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 81st minute of play forced Caballeritos del Baile's goalkeeper Angelo Urtsua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angelo Urtsua made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartolomeu Dias got free with Angelo Urtsua in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caballeritos del Baile's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
