The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Blas Colas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Italy's Siricio Liotta got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Blas Colas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 14th minute of play. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiburcio Marques in the 17th minute of the match. Blas Colas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Marques in the 28th minute of play. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Ulryk Mosiniak quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gianpaolo Mascari, made in the 30th minute of the game. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Blas Colas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 31st minute of play. Porziano Marchitelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Blas Colas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Tiburcio Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. Javier Mazuste made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ovidio Marin immediately put the ball in play. In the 42nd match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Cutri to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Tiburcio Marques fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Blas Colas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54thth minute of the game Zaccheo Andolina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Blas Colas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the match, ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Blas Colas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blas Colas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ made a substitution. Erasmo Thomas replaced Ovidio Marin. After a defensive mix-up in ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's zone, Siricio Liotta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blas Colas came out of the goal and Siricio Liotta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Waclaw Gniech seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Waclaw Gniech the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Waclaw Gniech had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Sigfrido Auletta walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Blas Colas made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Siricio Liotta sent off a good shot on target. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Blas Colas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 94 played minutes ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Edorta. Javier Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
