In the 38th minute of the match, Horaţiu Măcrinici tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Casper Claes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 39 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris. Mickaël Maris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 45 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Horaţiu Măcrinici sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper Claes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yves Dervaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Thanks to some nice moves Siebe Michiels could shoot a difficult shot in the 50th minute, which Mickaël Maris however easily saved by the left post. 52 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Gerazan came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Gerazan in the 55th minute of play. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 56th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Simon Sabbe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horaţiu Măcrinici struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Matos in the 95th minute of play.
