Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victoriano Iratzeder made a kick off. Isidoro Isidor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilson Amorim. Portugal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Moura got free with Zoran Simović in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. In the 73rd minute, Victoriano Iratzeder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. In the 76th minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zoran Simović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
