Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Petre Benga took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Valer Nuțu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valer Nuțu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 13th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Valer Nuțu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Valer Nuțu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valer Nuțu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gustaaf Groeneveldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valer Nuțu was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octav Puiu in the 24th minute of play. Valer Nuțu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Valer Nuțu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petre Benga took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 37thth minute of the game Gijsbert ter Kruimer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 38 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valer Nuțu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 43rd minute of play. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Wilmes scored 1-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valer Nuțu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iordache Vuşcan in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Iordache Vuşcan put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. 57 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valer Nuțu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 59th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Valer Nuțu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Nuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valer Nuțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iordache Vuşcan in the 64th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Wim Wilmes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valer Nuțu. That made the score 2-3 in the 68 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Gagiu in the 73rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Meesters scored 2-4 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valer Nuțu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octav Puiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Valer Nuțu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. After 87 minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. In the 89th minute, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-6. 92 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 2-7, to the right of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu. Valer Nuțu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Valer Nuțu was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Gustaaf Groeneveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 2-8. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- throughout the match.
