Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zé Paulo Pombal kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Germany booed when Cruzeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Zé Paulo Pombal scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Kahn, making the score, 1-0. Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 28th minute of play. Zé Paulo Pombal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Tommy Kahn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Paulo Pombal in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eguen Armesto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 minutes, Adrian Dreifuss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Cruzeiro RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Pombal came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro RS's Anselmo Koehler got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eguen Armesto having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Germany's Frank Sachs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eguen Armesto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 65th minute of play forced Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Koehler during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mergenthaler to maneuver through the defense. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
