A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bas Tuitert hit a great ball. When Adrian Orzaize came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Sαηgrε Azuɭ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrian Orzaize couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute of the match, Lionel-Andrés Messias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luciano Ferran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 43rd minute of play. Luciano Ferran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Răzvan Unciuleanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Orzaize in the 62nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. Gustaaf Groeneveldts short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Luciano Ferran to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Orzaize in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Adrian Orzaize's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. After 94 minutes of play, Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Lionel-Andrés Messias made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Sαηgrε Azuɭ players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
