In the 3rd match minute, Czech Republic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Vitek to maneuver through the defense. If Adelino Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Czech Republic's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Waldir Brito scored to the left of an out of position Vavrinec Holub, making the score, 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, Frédson Britto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vavrinec Holub. Czech Republic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frédson Britto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of Czech Republic booed when FÊNIX F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Erik Jilek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Valdemar Turecek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Jilek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anísio Gomes having to make a save. 23 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's Erik Jilek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anísio Gomes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anísio Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Jilek in the 30th minute of the match. Anísio Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Rezek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldir Brito received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vavrinec Holub came out and tried to block the shot, but Waldir Brito slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Jilek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alan Rezek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Anísio Gomes made a huge save. Erik Jilek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Anísio Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Paraíba came free, but Vavrinec Holub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 minutes, David Rusil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Czech Republic and the FÊNIX F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Frédson Britto hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Anísio Gomes was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and David Rusil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Rusil really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Erik Jilek hit a great ball. 97 minutes into the match, Waldir Brito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vavrinec Holub. Czech Republic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Brito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. FÊNIX F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
