The audience thought a goal was coming when 于竞常 got free with Gabriel Ascaso in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 43 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Teles came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in 潘迅峰 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Spain's Gabriel Ascaso did a great save. After the first half Spain were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Omar Toledo made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Edgard Teles made a precise shot to the right of Gabriel Ascaso. Spain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 忠 魏延 in the 58th managed to get into a good position. Spain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 狄松鹏 ran over to the corner to take the kick. Spain were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
