Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Roberto Puch started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The crowd rose to their feet as Rabelani Thebile kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Manuel Neuer came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Viriato Moura. But to his dismay, Viriato Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Lanús's Manuel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Daniel Pimentel notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Lanús's Manuel Neuer. Manuel Neuer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Manuel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Jonathan Chien-Kwan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 24th minute of play. Rabelani Thebile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Fabricio Andrade with Viriato Moura as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Roberto Puch might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Puch ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Puch. Rabelani Thebile struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lanús. Lanús's Manuel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Roberto Puch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanús's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Puch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Chien-Kwan to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Lanús getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jonathan Chien-Kwan hit a great ball. After 55 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. Manuel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Gaskon came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. A nice corner shot did that Jake Hursey got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilson Amorim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Fabricio Andrade hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartolomeu Dias got free with Manuel Neuer in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Eloy Gaskon sped through Portugal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 87th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Jonathan Chien-Kwan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but Manuel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
