Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Wellington Fonseca. 5 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esen Sanal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 7th minute Balazs Lajos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Benedykt Pankiewicz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fodor Daniel was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Antal Valentin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Esen Sanal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takacs Tibor in the 21st minute of play. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antal Valentin in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esen Sanal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Esen Sanal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antal Valentin's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 38th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedykt Pankiewicz in the 39th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Pochekanski made a kick off. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Pochekanski in the 53rd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Pochekanski to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute Mario Pochekanski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Pochekanski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hegedus Henrik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Pochekanski hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Esen Sanal came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Balazs Lajos. But to his dismay, Balazs Lajos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. If Ricardinho de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
