Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 10th minute of play. After 11 minutes Menchu FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adam Olaru who took care of the corner kick. In the 14th minute, Adam Olaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vasile Ciumak made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alex Serban however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 17th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Carol Stinga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes Menchu FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adam Olaru who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Costica Vladimiri got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Camilo Salvidor quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carol Stinga was a little too slow when Gabriele Batistuta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. Romania's attentive Cosmin Barbulescu managed to snatch the ball when Peter Söderqwist made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Camilo Salvidor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sanda Cutov's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Sanda Cutov might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Salvidor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sanda Cutov ran back to his position shaking his head. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriele Batistuta was the one to do the kick off. Sanda Cutov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Camilo Salvidor having to make a save. Gabriele Batistuta scored 2-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carol Stinga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Camilo Salvidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sanda Cutov in the 60th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Sanda Cutov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Salvidor was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the game, Gabriele Batistuta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0.
