Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adria Bielsa in the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, David Aranda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. New England Minas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Aranda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Enrique Rabellino hit a great ball. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Spain's Adria Bielsa. But to his dismay, Adria Bielsa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Nordmark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Tony Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jon Cubero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jeremy Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adria Bielsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Toledo in the 26th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adria Bielsa in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Spain's Gabriel Ascaso got control of the ball when Oscar Nordmark tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Edgardo Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Ascaso was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Edgardo Silva sped through Spain's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gabriel Ascaso.

Jeremy Nicholas made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Omar Toledo sent off a good shot on target. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Toledo in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. New England Minas made a substitution. Emmitt Benson replaced Alperen Öksüz. New England Minas's Hipolito Emenon was substituted for Jörgen Frohm. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glen Conklin during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Spain booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glen Conklin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Spain's Jonathan Criado to fire away a dangerous shot which Jeremy Nicholas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 86th minute of the match, Carles Cherro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jeremy Nicholas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Ruiz in the 93rd minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Spain's Pau Herrero was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 95th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Spain played a much better game than New England Minas and deserved their victory. The New England Minas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
