Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jindřich Přecechtěl went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fulgencio Rioja having to make a save. In the 34thth minute of the game Frank Sachs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velez's Fulgencio Rioja was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Fulgencio Rioja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan-Sebastián Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 40th minute of play forced Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albin Holweck kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Velez's Enrique Arósio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 48th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tommy Kahn but with some difficulty. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, one of Velez:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Velez. Velez:s Fulgencio Rioja showed great skill when he stopped Frank Sachs:s penalty. Venancio Caton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jedrzej Tomaka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Caton in the 68th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Velez were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Germany's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Enrique Arósio took the corner. Fulgencio Rioja made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Venancio Caton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Velez getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gilberto Ovando hit a great ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 82 minutes, Albin Holweck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Velez players grew even worse after the yellow card. The corner led Germany's Malte Schiele to fire away a dangerous shot which Fulgencio Rioja despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Germany booed when Velez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Lonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Juan-Sebastián Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Velez getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Elias Lonzo hit a great ball. Fulgencio Rioja stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Velez's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
