Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some careless play in the Porvir FC defense, Felipe Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Augusto Soeiro. The Porvir FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Augusto Soeiro should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes in the game, Rodrigo Quirino dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Antonio Smith scored 3-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Porvir FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but João Augusto Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Augusto Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Moreira in the 33rd minute of the match. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Félix in the 53rd minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Porvir FC's goalkeeper João Augusto Soeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Augusto Soeiro made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Caetano Moreira sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute, Caetano Moreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Moreira in the 68th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Porvir FC's Fábio Félix. But to his dismay, Fábio Félix quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu França, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 82nd minute of play forced Porvir FC's goalkeeper João Augusto Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Augusto Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Gino Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Gino Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Gino Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Porvir FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
