The Teresópolis F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Chris Mergenthaler kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Alan Baptista notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fred Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Viana got free with Tommy Kahn in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Germany's Janik Vogt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Oso Bruñon, made in the 24th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Michel Shevchenko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Shevchenko in the 30th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Teresópolis F.C's Fred Viana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Fred Vianas short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With an all-out effort, Teresópolis F.C's Tommy Kahn threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Michel Shevchenko, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Michel Shevchenko scored 6-0 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Michel Shevchenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teresópolis F.C's Velcho Rolanski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 44th minute of play. If Michel Shevchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Michel Shevchenko made the kick off in the second half. Guto Mendonça hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Germany's Frank Sachs got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, Teresópolis F.C's Jardel Messias got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Teresópolis F.C's Andrézinho Maciel was substituted for Alan Baptista. In the 85th minute Andrézinho Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrézinho Maciel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Michel Shevchenko came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Teresópolis F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Shevchenko couldn't finish the play.
