Napoleon Jajko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 14th minute of the match. Czeslaw Pawlak in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wilson Amorim, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tolek Wojtyna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Napoleon Jajko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Napoleon Jajko was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napoleon Jajko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Czeslaw Pawlak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 45th match minute, Zjem Cię was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslaw Cichowski to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zenon Roman to strike the kick off in the second half.
