If Hegedus Henrik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ΟΦΗ's Ilias Seichanidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Antal Valentin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Fodor Daniel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 14th minute Augusto Landero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Takacs Tibor hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. ΟΦΗ's Ilias Seichanidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Antal Valentin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ilias Seichanidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Antal Valentin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, ΟΦΗ's 柯剑政 got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A hard shot 59 in the game by Antal Valentin from a close distance when the talented Ilias Seichanidis managed to make a qualified save. ΟΦΗ's players were relieved. Ilias Seichanidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balazs Lajos in the 64th minute of play. Baki Ülger hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. ΟΦΗ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Hungary's Takacs Tibor getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Landero in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hungary's Balazs Lajos got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Ilias Seichanidis made a huge save. Fulvio Forlani took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ilias Seichanidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Katona Janos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Szekeres Tamas in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ΟΦΗ's Akis Karaoulanis. After a defensive mix-up in ΟΦΗ's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilias Seichanidis came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The ΟΦΗ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hungary were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
