With a little luck, Doffes Damer's Greid Tinsmith got control of the ball when Carles Cherro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldo Cristi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ascaso having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Carl Nordlander. Spain's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
