The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bruno Antognoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. With 9 minutes on the clock, Rodolfo Miranda commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Gustavo Gomes got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wilson Amorim. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 15th minute of play forced San Felice a Ema U.L.'s goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Felipe Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gustavo Gomes, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Donnellson in the 24th minute of play. San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Bruno Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Moreira in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 35th minute of play forced San Felice a Ema U.L.'s goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Felice a Ema U.L.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Viriato Moura got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bruno Antognoni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 40 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Bruno Antognoni. Bruno Antognoni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Antognoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as A.J. R. Hansen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 2-2 in the 47 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Björn Tingelholm to make the kick off. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Tingelholm in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Patrick Donnellson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 57th minute. A.J. R. Hansen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Felipe Barreto hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Barreto. Paşa Corre scored 4-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of San Felice a Ema U.L. booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graciano Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Giovanni Garro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from A.J. R. Hansen in the 76th minute of the match. Bartolomeu Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Gustavo Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi Antunes in the 86th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Giovanni Garro. But to his dismay, Giovanni Garro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Bruno Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. When San Felice a Ema U.L.'s Giovanni Garro in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Garro in the 99th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for San Felice a Ema U.L..
